Rockville, Indiana

Rockville, known as the “covered bridge capital of the world,” is a beautiful small town in Parke County. As of 2017, Rockville hosts a population of 2,523 people. Founded in 1803, Rockville is an hour and twenty minutes from Indianapolis and a half-hour drive from Terre Haute. It is also only fifteen minutes from Turkey Run State Park, a popular spot for visitors and locals alike. In addition to its great location, Rockville has many antique shops, museums, and covered bridges.

Raccoon Lake Park Beach

Our home is located just a 5 minute drive to beach at Raccoon Park.  We provide a free pass to get into the state park, as a part of your stay.

Hiking
Our Walker Getaway Vacation Home is located on five acres of land, with a creek running through it.  Perfect opportunity to explore the area, creek and wildlife without even having to get into your car.

Boating
Our home is located right across the street from the Walker boating ramp. 
Raccoon Lake offers five different boating ramps.  More information can be found here:

Hobson Adventure Farm

Since 2004, Hobson Adventure Farm in rural Rockville, Indiana has been creating family traditions. From the Fall Festival complete with a corn maze and pumpkin patch to the budding zoo with exotic animals, we invite you to laugh, learn, and enjoy the moments cherished with family and friends at our farm.

Places to see

Raccoon Lake (Cecil M Harden Lake) is  popular attraction to the Rockville area. The lake is a 2,060-acre federal flood control reservoir managed by the Corp of Engineers and the DNR.

Raccoon Lake is a great camping, boating, and fishing spot, particularly in the summertime.

Visitors enjoy over 8 miles of hiking trails with views of rocky cliffs, the lake, second-growth forests, and prairie restorations.

Covered Bridges

Rockville has has 31 covered bridges. In fact, Parke County is home to more covered bridges than any other county in the world. Every year, Parke County hosts the famous Covered Bridge Festival, which more than 2 million people attend every year. The Covered Bridge Festival presents a great opportunity to learn more about the area’s history, shop, and indulge in delicious food from local vendors. Rockville and the surrounding areas are also home to a growing Amish community.
